Very comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. Very clean. Lots of towels. great location for major galleries, shops and restaurants. We had room only as lots of cafes around for breakfast. The hotel breakfast is in my opinion over priced at £28 pp. I had room service once and it was very good and the restaurant has a small menu but good quality food.

I have not stayed in this exact location before. I have been a fan of hotels located in Mayfair or close to Harrods. I decided to have a change. No regrets. One reason is that arrived by train at Euston Station and the hotel is an easy 12-minute walk even with large suitcase. It is located in a street of typical Regency styled houses and is easy to miss because there is no large neon advertising sign in front of the hotel. This reflects the hotel. Effective and efficient service with a smile from room service to the bar. Bar was kept open for those late-night drinkers without any hint from the staff that it is time to go to bed. British museum and convent Garden are an easy 5 and 12 minute walk respectively. Tottenham court road is your nearest tube station. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs with food within 15 minutes of the hotel so there is no need to jump into a taxi. Bed was very comfortable with a turn down service in the evening. I was pleased that cups and saucers were provided together with a kettle so you could make coffee or tea for yourself. There was an area where could relax and read the paper. An inner courtyard reflected the location and added to the character of this particular hotel. A doorman was always on watch to help new arrivals with their luggage. I have stayed in a number of London Hotels over the years. I have now discovered a new one that I happy to place at the top of my list to stay at next time i visit London.

Very luxurious hotel. Well furnished comfortable room. Excellent service from the staff. I liked the lovely towelling bath robes provided for guests' use. Good quality furnishings, linen and towels. Water was provided in the room and replenished. We dined in the restaurant one night. The meal was delicious and could not be faulted and the service was attentive but not intrusive.

A charming, old-school hotel. The location is ideal, quite near Russell Square, museums, and public transportation. The building feels historic and the amenities are very generous. Our room was small but well designed, and the view onto the garden was very pretty. The staff were extremely attentive and quick to answer any questions. The food in the restaurant was quite good both times we ate there.

The hotel is located almost opposite the British Museum. It is just one metro stop (Russell Square) away from St. Pancras train station, the terminus of Eurostar. My room looked onto the street that was rather quiet. Its size was ok, at least I did not need to squeeze. The bathroom could have been slightly bigger though. As the hotel is in a heritage house, this is understandable, as much as the cracking wooden floor when someone was passing by. The welcome cookies were delicious & the complementary tea, in particular the Earl Grey aromatic. I appreciated the availability of the daily complementary sparkling water.

Welcoming atmosphere with excellent service was our delight. The intimacy of the lobby invited you to breath in the most gracious service I’ve ever experienced. From Abi our favorite who was most kind and helpful (made my daughter and I feel like princesses) to Camelia who warmly entertained pre breakfast harvest, to Sebastian who set me perfectly directed to the Elizabeth line, to Harriett who handed me an answer to a confusing question in seconds. What ever you are doing here at this property? It’s working. Every room helper, every room service, every cocktail server was a 10. Most enchanting hotel experience I’ve ever had. Thank you!

The Montague, comprising beautifully converted townhouses, in a fabulous location around the corner from the British Museum, is warm and welcoming with a quirky but luxurious feel. As a solo female traveller I felt very secure at The Montague. The bar and dining options are worth staying in for and the rooms are well-appointed and comfortable - no minibar but excellent tea/coffee making facilities - withgood room service and a great bathroom. All the staff were invariably friendly, helpful and polite. My second stay at The Montague will hopefully not be my last.

We chose this hotel to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in London. The location of the hotel for our purpose was perfect! We wanted to base ourselves in Central London, close to Covent Garden and staying at this hotel enabled us to do just that. We were able to get to the Shard, Sky Garden, Borough, Leadenhall and Seven dials markets in time for our planned visit using the tube stations within a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Both the Holborn and the Tottenham court road tube stations are 10 minutes by walk which was excellent. The hotel is situated in Bloomsbury; the British museum is just around the corner and we could walk to Covent Garden, Soho, Leicester Square, Seven Dials, etc. within 10-12 minutes. The bus no.14 stops in front of the hotel - this was very convenient when returning home late from Soho and Piccadilly circus. The hotel itself was excellent with a good size lounge to relax in the evenings. The room we were given was the largest in the category of Classic Double room. It was well proportioned, nice and bright with a large window facing the gardens behind the hotel. The staff were excellent, no request was too small and we felt we were looked after very well. The card wishing us along with a dessert plate was a wonderful gesture. The evening turn down service was a lovely touch that added to the overall experience. The nightly rate was expensive, but this is Central London. The value we got out of staying here far exceeded the price we paid for the hotel as we were close to all the sights we had planned to visit. Staying here also allowed us to return to the hotel after a day's sightseeing and get ready and head out again for dinner in nearby Soho and Covent Garden. We did not have any meals in the hotel as we had a list of restaurants we wanted to try in other areas, so can't comment on this. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Montague and will definitely return again when we plan our next trip to Central London.
